As part of our continued growth and evolution, we are excited to be able to launch new memberships that offer even more services than ever before while retaining a tiered pricing scheme designed to be affordable for anyone from freelancers to full time professionals. We have also added memberships to help small businesses take advantage of okcCoCo for meeting and work space. Importantly, we have introduced the Community Membership as a way you can support our community building efforts, even if you are not in particular need of our coworking or business services. For just $10 a month you will help sustain and foster the creation of community groups, events, workshops and classes at okcCoCo and help us maintain an open and vibrant community.

In a short time, the okcCoCo has become a home and resource for many different communities. These communities bring together Oklahoma City’s most creative, technical and entrepreneurial individuals. We have regularly hosted a wide variety of community groups including Refresh, the Java Users Group, the SQL Developers Group, the Developers Group, the SharePoint Users Group, Cocoa Heads, OK.rb the Ruby Users Group, the PHP Users Group, LUGnuts the Linux Users Group, the Final Cut Pro Users Group, the DC405, the Functional Programming Group, the Geek Writers, the Podcasting Club, the Bootstrappers Beer and the Oklahoma Video Producers Association. We are very proud to say that many of these groups started at and are supported by the okcCoCo. We stream live and digitally record many of the groups that meet at the okcCoCo. The archive of over 150 presentation is an amazing educational resource and is available for free viewing online at http://okccoco.blip.tv. We continue to seek out existing community groups of all types, and welcome passionate individuals interested in starting new community groups.

We have also particularly enjoyed creating, running, facilitating and/or hosting large scale special events this last year including OpenBeta, BarCamp, MashupCamp, DevCam, PitchCamp, Startup Weekend, Code4aCause, Throw Your Voice, Deluxe Craft Weekend, the Gov20a Conference, the Red Dirt Ruby Conference, and Techmas. Expect to see many of these event return again this year. We are always willing to help passionate people looking to organize new and innovative events. It has been our pleasure to host well over 100 smaller events at the okcCoCo. We have had workshops and classes on topics such as iPhone development, information security, typography, photography, making, crafting and more. We have also been able to open our space up for business meetings, corporate offsites, marketing events, multiday training and social events. If you know of anyone looking to hold small or large events, please tell them about the okcCoCo. We have a range of spaces and services available at reasonable prices. We can host events ranging in size from 5 to 250 people.

We have also had much success helping to foster and grow businesses at the okcCoCo. While many of our events are aimed to encouraging and educating the community about business opportunities and mechanics, we spend a good amount of time helping our member businesses promote themselves, find new clients, learn about available resources, and find professionals to work with. The okcCoCo has become a nexus of professional connections. The Coworking Professional Membership is an office without the walls. You get a reserved desk in a restricted access shared work space where you can leave your computers, files, and belongings overnight. It includes all the benefits of the Coworking Membership with the additional benefits of having your own desk, 24/7 access, and priority access to our conference room and our board room.

Reserved Suite Membership – $600/mo – learn more

The Reserved Suite Membership includes a spacious reserved office, wifi, electricity, reserved parking, and 24/7 access. What separates our offices from other offices is co-location with and access to the coworking facility that houses a conference room, board room, social area, coworking areas and event center. Two Coworking Memberships are included with each Reserved Suite Membership. A minimum six month contract is required.

Maker’s Faire is a family fun festival to MAKE, create, learn, invent, CRAFT, recycle, build, think, play & be inspired by celebrating arts, crafts, engineering, food, music, science and technology.

It’s been a while since the last and with the summer here, there is no better time than now for a jelly. Come out for a day of free coworking! Or just stop by to say hello and shoot the breeze with smart and interesting people. We’ll have Jelly donuts first thing in the morning and enough coffee to last throughout the day. As always, we have places to plug in, wifi, comfortable digs and cool, cool, AC.

What is a Jelly?

A Jelly is an ad hoc coworking event. It is an opportunity for independent and freelance professionals, as well as corporate workers looking to get off-site, to work in a shared space for all or part of a day. Coworking provides opportunities to meet new and interesting people, to network with creative professionals, to share ideas, to get feedback, and even to start new collaborations.

Thanks to everyone (thankfully there are a lot of you) for your support of the okcCoCo in its first year! We dared to launch a coworking facility, a new concept for Oklahoma, in the roughest of economic times. I’m please to say that we continue to survive and that in the short time that we’ve been open we have able to foster the technical, creative and entrepreneurial communities in OKC. We expect that this next year will be even more exciting and we look forward to contributing to the growth of Oklahoma City.

We would like to invite all of our members to a dinner to celebrate on June 4th from 5:30pm to 7pm. Our good friends at Rococos will cater a special three course summer dinner (chicken) for our enjoyment at the okcCoCo. Join us at 5:30pm to reconnect with other okcCoCo members over drinks. Then stay for dinner from 6pm to 7pm. Spouses and family are welcome. Please RSVP with a head count via email by Wednesday June 2nd. If you would like a vegetarian meal please let us know.

Once again we’re collecting non-perishable food for the Food Bank of Oklahoma. Please bring at least one can of food per person for those less fortunate.

An important part of being part of the okcCoCo community is the professional networking opportunities that exist only at okcCoCo. okcCoCo members are some of this city’s top developers and developers. We host the meetings of a dozen technology focused community groups each month. We also run special educations events and host invited speakers that are free for okcCoCo members to attend.
